RE: Expanding Team Participation at Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series

As you are aware, the 2017 Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series will be played in Branson, Missouri, a host site that will provide the same exciting and memorable experience to the teams, players and families who join us from around the world. All games will be played at Ballparks of America, Branson. The Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series, with its international participation, will offer a unique social and cultural encounter for every participant.

For the 2017 season, Babe Ruth League is inviting the Cal Ripken Major/70 State Champions from the Midwest Plains Region to participate in the World Series as an invitational team. Please be advised that this special invitation supersedes Rule 11.06, paragraph 5, meaning the state champion is not eligible to compete in regional play.

The Cal Ripken Major/70 State runner-up teams will advance to the Midwest Plains Cal Ripken Major/70 Regional Tournament, which gives them the opportunity to represent the Midwest Plains Region at the Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series should they win the regional tournament.

The state champion teams will be responsible for their expenses for transportation, lodging (at an approved Babe Ruth League World Series Hotel) and meals for all team personnel (players, coaches and managers) for the duration of their stay at the 2017 Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series, as well as full compliance with the Pre-World Series Instructions.

We look forward to having your state champion take part in the World Series. The playing dates of the World Series are August 3-10, 2017, and all participating teams must arrive on August 2.
